The Police Chief I lost my business mobile phone in a taxi at Fethiye town centre. After 24 hours of enquiries I reported the loss to T Mobile in London and they requested I obtain a police report for insurance purposes. I had dinner in the evening at a family restaurant whose Turkish hostess spoke fluent English.
I asked her for directions to the nearest police station. She asked me why I needed the police and when I explained I needed a report for my missing phone, she pointed to a man sitting further away at a table and said: 'You don't need to go to a police station. This man over there is the chief of police and he is my father's friend. He can help you.
After half a minute the chief of police took me in his car and we went to every taxi station in town where he inquired about the phone. It had been found by the driver who had reported it to his office. That same evening the chief of police drove me to the taxi driver's house outside the city to collect the phone then brought me back to the restaurant. What a service!! Wow!...K.B. London, England
